We’re pleased to announce the Solo Championship Series for 2011.  There are three distinct series in the Solo Champion Series: The Class Championship, The PAX Championship, and the Driver of the Year. All 2011 Delta Solo Events count towards these series.

With just two more points events in the 2010 season remaining, a few class championships remain open for the taking.

Terry Roshto has a chance of catching Bill Sims in Super Stock with good showings in the final two events.  Joel Maese, Christopher Young and Walter Smith all have opportunties to catch current C Stock class leader Kenny Durapau.  Ian Brook and Gregory Nunez are in a very close race for the B Street Prepared title with only two points separating the two.  F125 is still up in the air with Shae Fogleman and Joe Ricard both competing for the title. 

Drivers that still need at least one event to qualify for a class championship are:  Bill Sims(SS), Terry Roshto(SS), Jimmy Jummonville(CS), Christopher Young (CS), Amber Dorsey (CS), Jack Heaton (DS), John Welty (FS), Jon Legrand (HS), Gregory Nunez (BSP), Ian Brook (BSP), Myles Johnson (XP), AJ Thurman (EP), Raghuan Madaweka (ST), Kerry Coughlin (STS), Justin Victor (SM), Shae Fogleman (F125), Joe Ricard (F125), AJ Thurman (FJA).

Like many large corporations with complex accounting challenges, Delta Region SCCA has it’s own issues with numbers. Part of that is the lack of intelligent help (me), and part of it is the amazingly cumbersome method for tracking season points in Axware. So, after learning a few tricks and applying a couple hours of time (or 2 days), I’ve managed to fix almost all of the issues with our 2010 Points Series.

Like those big corporations restating their earnings as if to say a fiscal “oopsie”, Delta needs to restate the series points for a more accurate standing of the season. I decided it was better to do this now than later, as we are headed for 12-13 event season, and we’ve got 6 events in the books. Fixing all this has been… formidable, to say the least.

Rules for the 2010 Solo Series Championship are posted HERE, but I wanted to add a handy table so everyone knows how many events will be dropped for PAX Championship. The rules call for dropping 1/3 of the events and 2/3 will count towards the PAX Championship.

8/9/2010: fixed some things with Jimmy’s points. He’s now leading the PAX series, but there have not been any drop events factored in yet. I will start applying that from August onward, because it’s too tricky to to this retroactively in Axware. There’s a natural life cycle to the Membership file, and it really should progress chronologically.

After 3 Events, these are the standings for the Delta Solo Series Championships. This is our first time using Axware to manage the Series points, so if you see something wrong, let us know.
Here are the Class Results from the 2nd 2010 Event, current Class standings and PAX Championship points.

James Jumoville is our current leader in the PAX Series, followed by Justin Victor.

As stated before, due to scheduling conflicts, we were unable to secure Zephyrs for a June event. We are hoping to make that up with our July Mega-Event:

Coming July 10th and 11th to Zephyr Field, Delta will be hosting an entire weekend of autocross and drift.

Saturday the 11th will feature autocross in the morning and afternoon and then an open drift event beginning around 3pm.

Sunday the 12th will be a normal autocross.

More details for the races are below.Drivers will see a brand new course on both Saturday and Sunday. Weekend series trophies will be awarded for those competing both days.
