Preliminary Results: Class, Raw, PAX, and Virtual
The event went fairly smoothly, despite being tough logistically. Darren and Justin loaded up a truck on Saturday with equipment from the Delta trailer in Metairie.

We had a GREAT event with some exciting driving. Robbie Poupart put a phenomenal performance in his shifter kart, and Des Toups was mighty impressive in his Chevy Cobalt.
T&S went well, but we had some strange errors from time to time (mostly software glitches: negative sector times were very common this time).

Logs and pictures will be up soon.

After a bit of a late start (10:30am) we got the event going smoothly and quickly. Only 38 drivers showed up for our first event at Gulf Island Water Park in Gulfport, Mississippi, but we all had a great time anyway. A few organizational snafus are expected at any new site, especially one when we leave the Delta equipment trailer back in New Orleans. Still, we managed seven runs at a smooth pace with minimum disruption. The Water Park people are simply awesome to deal with and very helpful.

Here are the unconfirmed, preliminary results from TLAC3 2009 at Delta Region. Look for official results and scanned log sheets in a day or so, along with a full event review. But here is an early look at the results as of 2:52pm, Sunday, 10/4/09. Posted on from a parking lot in Metairie, using stolen WiFi.

And for a few more laughs, I compiled the afternoon wet runs only. These are just for kicks and all the runs are used for TLAC.

Well, we had a *great day* despite some difficulties, mostly stemming around some basic stupidity on my part. First was leaving the radios back home in the wrong vehicle, so we had to improvise a bit. We dug up the old radios and gave them a quick charge which made it halfway through the day before going dead. Thanks to a generous return policy at Wal-Mart, we had the critical start-timing comminucation covered with some really cheap FRS radios. Another was the our deep-cycle battery that didn’t hold a charge and went dead moments after powering up. It did, however, make a suitable anchor for the canopies. (more article, photos and results after the jump)
