Like many large corporations with complex accounting challenges, Delta Region SCCA has it’s own issues with numbers. Part of that is the lack of intelligent help (me), and part of it is the amazingly cumbersome method for tracking season points in Axware. So, after learning a few tricks and applying a couple hours of time (or 2 days), I’ve managed to fix almost all of the issues with our 2010 Points Series.
Like those big corporations restating their earnings as if to say a fiscal “oopsie”, Delta needs to restate the series points for a more accurate standing of the season. I decided it was better to do this now than later, as we are headed for 12-13 event season, and we’ve got 6 events in the books. Fixing all this has been… formidable, to say the least.
So here they are, the restated results from the season. This version supersedes all previous posts on the subject, but I’ve left the old posts in case someone wants to check my work (please don’t…I’m looking at you, Rick Ruth). This will be the basis of all future events from this point on.
Event 1: Class, PAX, Raw, Summary, Virtuals, Class Points, Class Championship, PAX Championship
Event 2: Class, PAX, Raw, Summary, Virtuals, Class Points, Class Championship, PAX Championship
Event 3: Class, PAX, Raw, Summary, Virtuals, Class Points, Class Championship, PAX Championship
Event 4: Class, PAX, Raw, Summary, Virtuals, Class Points, Class Championship, PAX Championship
Event 5: Class, PAX, Raw, Summary, Virtuals, Class Points, Class Championship, PAX Championship
Event 6: Class, PAX, Raw, Summary, Class Points, Class Championship, PAX Championship
Event 6 may look a bit different than the others, mainly from the previously mentioned issues with the 2-day event thing.
Overall, it’s still not perfect. I missed a problem with Event #4, where I issued Jacob Finley’s results to John Dugas. This is one of those tedious little issues with Axware: only one person can have a class/number for the entire year, otherwise you can get dupes like this. Dugas was 6 DSP at one event during the year, and so was Jacob Finley. So Axware wants to map them to the same driver, unless I uncheck it during the points update. I caught most of them but this one got by me. In order to fix it, you must (get this) roll back the Membership file to the event with the mistake, and start over with the fixes from that point on. I’m not OCD enough to do this, especially when I’ve seen John Dugas maybe three times this entire year, and once was when he was stuffing his face with a pizza. We love you John, so you get a few extra points this year in the Solo series.
