Belated report:
After being thwarted by weather, Mardi Gras, and football, Delta successfully completed its 2009 trailer day.
The first part of the operation was to remove and sort through the accumulated detritus of the past few seasons. We are saddened to report the demise of the following items:
- A small army of broken pop-up tents
- Several spools of ethernet cable (more on that in a second)
- Two generations of obsolete timing and scoring system and several spools of obsolete cable
- The old broken PA system
- A PVC pipe cable bridge that hasn’t been used in over three years
- The bulletin board for the side of the trailer
- About 8 garbage cans of general trash
So much more room now!
We’ve also made some significant improvements elsewhere, which will make set up and tear down much faster:
- Trailer is now wired for power. One plug does it all.
- The new PA system is integrated into the trailer.
- Timing, scoring, and registration are now 100% wireless.
As we saw from the March event, setup and teardown is much quicker.
