New Solo Site on the MS Gulf Coast!

Delta is please to announce the addition of a new Solo site in Gulfport MS. Members Joe Ricard (Gautier MS) and Eric Trigg (BFE, MS) have spearheaded the effort to bring Solo to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The last Solo event in the area was in 2001 at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum.

The location is Gulf Island Waterpark, located near I49 and I10 in Gulfport, MS. The waterpark is closed annually from September until April, so it’s available and affordable for Solo. The site is about the same size as Zephyrs Stadium, but with a few more light posts that we can easily work around. GIWP will run concessions for drivers and spectators. There are plenty of hotels and casinos in the area.

The first event will be OctoberFAST, a two day event on October 10th and 11th, 2009. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting development.

The event also concides with the weekend of the world-famous Crusin’ The Coast event. Come out for a great weekend of racing and classic cars (literally thousands of classic cars running around the entire Gulf Coast that week)
