Delta is happy to announce the start of a Double Entry program for 2009. This program is designed to encourage out of town participants to attend Delta events, allow competitors extra seat time, and to help cover Delta Region Regional event production costs. The rules are outlined below:
Delta Double Entry (DB) Program
• The DB program will not interfere with or lessen the quality of the Regional Event Solo.
• Delta’s Solo Chair will set a cap on a per event basis (usually ~15).
• DB entrants are at the discretion of the Regional Executive and/or Solo Chair.
• DB entrants will not gain an advantage over, nor interfere in any way with, normal class competition.
• As an absolute last resort, the Regional Executive or Solo Chair may cancel the DB entries already registered if necessary to support the Regional event.
Double Entry Requirements:
• Open to SCCA members only. Weekend members are not eligible at this time.
• Participants enter once in a regular class and once in the DB class.
• Only the first four runs will count towards trophies or points. DB class times will be saved and posted on the Internet. The remainder of the driver’s runs will count as practice only. Note: If other participants receive more than 4 runs, it will be at the discretion of the Regional Executive and/or Solo Chair to allow additional runs to count towards trophies or points. This decision will be based solely on whether or not it interferes with the flow of timing and scoring.
• Double entrants must work all their work assignments and assist with course cleanup.
• Chief of workers assigns DB class competitors to heats as needed to balance out worker needs.
• Cost for second entry is $20, or $45 per event.
• Whining about having to work or not being allowed to run your regular class out of order will not be tolerated.
• Not showing up for your work assignment will result in your times being eliminated from the final web results and potentially the competitor being denied future DB entry and future participation in Delta events.
The above rules will be updated as Delta works through refining this program.
