I’ll have the rest of the TLAC1 photos I took up a little later. But this special collection is dedicated to Delta’s TLAC tradition of having a bit of fun. This year’s target was Ken Orgeron, who’s bought and sold so many cars in the last few years that his insurance company is in his Fave 5 and writes his policy in pencil.
I cut some vinyl to poke a little fun (we miss you, Chip!), and maybe save Ken some work. It’s only a matter of time, after all, before Ken buys your race car and sells it a few weeks later. We started putting stickers on cars back in Baton Rouge, and by the morning of the event had a dozen or so cars tagged. The CCM CRX got special treatment (”low miles”…right). We had to hit Ken’s car too as a suprise, but Ken didn’t stay in the event hotel. He did mention he was staying at the Hilton (there are two in Shreveport, but we just looked for his car at the more expensive downtown Hilton). Wee-man and I found a Mini in the Parking garage with Texas plates and tires in the back seat (paydirt!). Ken found his car in the morning with stickers on the back window and wondered if he was at the right car. Once he saw the windshield banner saying “KEN-O AUTO SALES”, he muttered “…Benson!”.
Here’s some pictures of a few of the vehicles Ken has for sale.
