DELTA member and uber computer geek Brian Harper was able to get DELTA on the Omega tester list (like VHS OMEGA is better than BETA). The base of the cone will contain two key components. The first component is the sensors that calculate the rate at which the “cone zone” was impacted. It will determine whether the cone was knocked down or just moved a few inches. The sensors will then determine whether or not a penalty has been assessed. The second component is the projector. There is actually a microscopic cone inside the base encircled in mirror dust. This image is then magnified and projected up through the base. The cones will have the ability to be weighted so that cones that in a high hit area can be weighted and will be less likely to move. When a penalty has been assessed the projected cones will be enlarged and changed from ORANGE to PINK. This will allow for a quick count of penalties and well deserved humiliation for the offending driver.
