At the January 2007 Grand Bayou Race at NPR, John Smith put the Mongo Racing 240SX into the swamp out by Turn 3. Winston was kind enough to pull him out, but the 4WD tow vehicle threw clumps of mud all over Smith, adding insult to injury. Not the thin stuff either: the big -clumpy-heavy-mud-that-you-don’t-step-in-because-it-will-pull-your-boot-off kind of mud. You Louisiana hunters know what I’m talking about. Being pulled back into Grid in this condition was particularly amusing, and we couldn’t help take a few photos for future laughs. Team owner Chris Carver later said it took $6 in quarters to pressure wash all the mud off.
