Message from the Regional Executive

With only one introductory Board meeting behind us, and no club meetings as yet, your
Board hasn ‘t had a lot of time to show their stuff. Although we haven’t come up with
Many answers, we have at least clarified some of the problems, and I I think I can speak
for the rest of the Board in stating that we are gearing our programs for the year
toward making molehills out of mountains in four areas:
1. Get Delta Region racing again.
2. Improve the status of, and the participation in, the monthly club events.
3. Motivate club to a much greater active participation in club activities.
4, Put Delta Region on a sounder financial basis.

Of course, even .. Partial solution to one difficulty will go a long way toward
solving the others. A rebirth of Delta-sponsored racing will certainly stimulate
some interest from the membership and strengthen our financial position. A solid
program of club competition events, with good sites and stimulating activities should
inspire new interest from old members and get the new members started in the right
direction.

To coin a cllche–we’re working on that.

The decision to hold a run-off election for the final Directorship is something
of a handicap in getting off to a proper start, but it is the result of the discussion
and vote by the members present at the Annual Meeting, and that is as it should be.
That makes the January meeting even more important — please make every effort to be
there to vote. Many other new ..matters and developments on old ones will be brought
out in January also, so make your plans early. We have much to do; we need you to
help us do it.
